We’ll start with the new "World of Beer" opening Friday night on market Street, just across the street from the newly expanded Taco Mac.
This is their first location in Tennessee, But there are sixty of them around the country.
They promise 550 different types of beer.
But they also serve meals, Including local grass fed beef.
Owner Frank Hudson says local is important to World of Beer.
"With what we have we try to bring in basically the best of Chattanooga so I bring in every local brewery in Chattanooga. We also partner with them to make special kegs for us..and we try to source all of out food locally."
Waitressing at World of Beers is no easy gig.
You have to pass a test on the background of all those 550 beer brands.
The newest restaurant on the North Shore began a soft opening this afternoon.
Root Kitchen and Wine Bar is taking the space of the old "elemental" on manufacturers boulevard.
The operators moved to town from Charleston South Carolina.
Gabriel Camp gave us a sample menu today that includes a grilled watermelon and beet salad.. Sapelo Island Clams.. Braised Pork cheeks… Plus Shrimp and grits.

We also got word today of a new boutique hotel planned right at the entrance to the Walnut Street bridge, On the southside of the river.
It will be a five story, Independent hotel to serve the art district.
90 rooms.. And High end amenities located at 102 Walnut Street.
The service includes allowing you to pick the type of pillow you want.. The music you want to hear in the room.. Patio dining and local art on display.
But Vision Hospitality has not named the hotel yet.
The next step is a presentation to the Planning Commission for rezoning.
