The state line won’t be an obstacle in getting you pulled over.
Officers from Tennessee and Georgia gathered Wednesday at the I-75 Welcome Center to stress that point
And both state agencies will be enforcing the "no refusal law."
If officers suspect you’re driving impaired, they don’t need your consent to get blood samples.
JEFF HARRIS, GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY
"This effort, especially before Labor Day, is something we want to push to the public as an educational thing as much as an enforcement thing. We want everybody to know to slow down, buckle up, don’t drink and drive, or you’re gonna see some of our enforcement partners out on the roads."
Saturation patrols, bar and tavern checks, and checkpoints will also be held at various locations in Tennessee, Georgia and the southeastern states.
