Handicapped Students of Hixson High
As a physically challenged woman of 37 years while finding this to be a beautiful program I also find it to be heartbreaking that these children are working for a total of 5 hours on a job with no compensation. I feel that five hours is far to long and surpases training. Two hours is training without pay, five hours is an insult to the intelligence of the challenged and a blessing for the trainer. If they are being trained to work and lead a functioning life at five hours, more than part time, they should be given minimum wage to experience cashing a check, balancing a check book and budgeting their pay.
I repeat this is a beautiful idea and these business are to be commended, but the actual plan needs to be revised.
