Hi DEF,
Study Island looks okay. I'd have to see it first-hand to pass on it. Assessment IS needed. I'm just not sure if MCAS and other tests are the right way to go.

Language Arts
Any method causes students to want to learn on their own is worth considering as a tool. So many students mentally withdraw from a lesson because it seems boring to them. Why not use technology to teach? Students love technology.
