Governor Sonny Perdue Prays For Rain in Georgia

GOVERNOR PERDUE PRAYING FOR RAIN

I feel so blessed to live in a state where our governor took such a bold, powerful step in praying publicy for rain. He is a humble man of God. However, I was so hoping that he would pray in the name of Jesus. I know that is where so much persecution comes in, but that is how Jesus told us to pray. Talking about God and praying to God is not attacked so much because other religions talk about and pray to god. We are in a dark time and it is time to take a stand and not hold back. We need to show the hurting world how to find healing and deliverance. There is power and life in His name. Again, I am very humbled by our governor taking the stand he did. I also know that many of those gathered there were praying in the name of our Lord.

Keep Praying

It just rained two days ago-HARD! When God's prophet prayed for rain, it rained, and I believe that we are in a PROPHETIC hour that the remnant is begining to rise and PRAY FOR RAIN! LET IT RAIN! Remember, what happens in the natural is happening in the spiritual too!

Gov. Perdue praying for rain

Thank you so much for all your comments!! Governor Perdue is to be commended for giving glory where glory is due!! I only wish all of our Christian family would begin to act like Christians and vote for politicians who stand up for the values that made this country great so our God can once again bless our nation!!

Let the Rain Come Forth

Praise the Most High, a powerful reminder to those fools who say, "there is no God". It is such a humble reminder that God is, and that He alone is in control of the elements. As has been said previously, mankind has indeed strayed from its course-- we have forgotten our dependence on our Creator, the maker of all things and the ultimate giver and taker of life.

It is no surprise to those who believe that God still hears and still answers prayers today. The skeptic and lunatic still try to persuade otherwise, much to their chagrin, that God is somehow not interested or concerned with the affairs of man...when actually, God came to us, robed in flesh and dwelt among us, pleaded with us, bore stripes for us, died for us and rose the third day-- all for us.

Thank you, Governor Perdue, from a Texan who still believes and is thanking God (with you) for your rain.

Miracles in Georgia

Yes there ARE miracles. A government official publicly praying with the people of his state. A greater miracle than rain after a drought. This is the Land of Freedom. Those who believe in prayer should be allowed to pray as those who do not are allowed to abstain. I send my wishes/prayers/thanks up for your future rains and well being.

God Bless you Governer Perdue

Thank you for standing up for what you believe in..We need to pray for more of our Leaders to believe in the Holy word of God!! And in Boldness to use it as it was intened, for our benefit and instruction...

Praise God, he answers prayer!! Maybe some needed to actually see a glimpse of the Lords miracles..

I pray for rain and our Governer in California as well, as we are also in much need of rain and prayer ourselves..These disasters around the world are not unpredictable. People have to read the word(The Bible)of God so they won't be so surprised.

May the Lord Bless you and your family...
Happy Thanksgiving and yes Merry CHRISTmas...

Signed praying for rain in Ca and survivor of fire evacuations in Southern Ca..

Amen!

Public Prayer...

Read Matthew 6:6...

5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

The prayer this man prayed

The prayer this man prayed was a very humble prayer, acknowledging man's sin and our dependence upon God for all things, even much-needed rain. That's probably why it rained the next day; it was an honest, simple prayer of faith, a prayer of need. It was not a haughty, look-at-me-I'm-praying-like-I'm-supposed-to-be prayer. Also, the word says forsake not the assembling of yourselves together, (meaning church) and we obviously all pray there....

This was a humble PUBLIC prayer crying out to God for a miracle

Matthew 18:19 "Again I say[a] to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

This was not a private prayer that he spoke so that people could hear him. This was intended as a public prayer – everyone was praying WITH him NOT just listening TO him. He was humbly asking God to provide rain.

What is your point? Take

What is your point? Take the meaning of the passage in context! Many of Jesus prayers were public for our edification. I wish the governer prayed in Jesus name too.

Amen! By Him all things were

Amen! By Him all things were made; there was nothing made without Him. It is also by Him we are saved, and by no other name shall we be saved - Jesus!

He is faithful though to honor the humble Governor's prayer.

Governor Perdue praying for rain

Thank God for Governor Perdue's BOLDNESS knowing full well He'd be criticized for daring to call on God just like Elijah did in days of old.God showed up & out for him too! God's Word says righteousness EXALTS a nation. It's time we exhibited more of it!!! We need LOTS more Godly men & women to STAND UP & SPEAK OUT for what they believe!!! Thanks again Governor! I believe in God,in the power of prayer & miracles too!!!! Go Governor Perdue!!!! What a legacy you just left your family...generations to come!!!

God Answers Governor's Prayer

Thank you WDEF News 12 for posting this and may God bless your orginization. Well we see since the other day God Answered the Governor's Prayer for Rain. Despite the bleak outlook on Tuesday, the weather made a dramatic and unexpected turn on Wednesday. A cold front stretching from Alabama to southern Pennsylvania swept across the east bringing several Thunderstorms and desperately needed rain to the Southeast. Why such a sudden change in the forecast? I believe God was answering a specific and public prayer.

Sometimes he hides his face for reasons revealed in his word the Bible, sometimes he says wait and in this case it seems there was some heartfelt humility of our own inadequacies and shortcomings and God reacted. His Mercy and Righteousness endures forever. Haleluia to God the Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Let's get Prayer and his Word back in our Schools and see that turn around too now, hah?! And stop the foolish insanity.

Prayer

I wish we had a Godly praying govenor in Wisconsin.

Rain In Alanta

Amen. and Amen. We need more Govenment Officials standing up for God. I live in Wisconsin too, too bad our Govenor is not more bold. Things would change, if more things were brought to God in prayer. Let us all pray for our Government Leaders, to become more Godly people. Amen.

Praying for Rain for Georgia

Thanks be to God for the honorable example of your governor. When hearing of your need and that some of your people would be praying for rain, I too joined you in prayer from Florida. Prayer does make a difference, and I also believe in miracles. God will provide and has done so already. God fearing believers must set an example for the rest of the world. Thank you, Governor Perdue, for your leadership and prayer for your people's needs.

Wow.

I can't even begin to express my gratitude for finally being able to see and hear a government official leading these citizens in prayer. Absolutely incredible. I want to see more of this type of unabashed faith in our Nation!

Prayer for rain

Gov. Perdue,

Thank you for acknowledging that our God is the only one who can meet our needs because He is the one who created all things. Thank you, also, for repenting for our wastefulness. Only the goodness of God can lead us to repentance which will bring blessing (read Jeremiah).

"Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for 3 years 6 months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit." James 5:17, 18

Congrats to Gov. Perdue

Dear Gov Perdue,

Congratulations on your successful problem solving strategy for the drought in Georgia! My family heard the news media describing the intensity of the problem and the drastic water-rationing dam-altering solutions posed by other scientists and politicians. I said, "Why don't they pray for rain?" We did, and later I read that YOU got very serious and led your state in prayer.

The next day I heard Neil Boortz jeering with another commentator that you must have made a mistake and prayed for 30 mph wind, "ha, ha, ha". I was so thrilled when God sent you the rain!

Two of my kids and I worked on your campaign with Tim Echols's Teen Pact group 5 years ago. We were proud of you then and we are VERY proud of you now. WAY TO LEAD!

May God continue to bless you,

Cathy Reichel

Pray for Rain

Thanks for setting the example. The prayers of a ritious man availith much....In the natural it will rain a lot...In the supernatural, the Spirit of the Lord will rain down - watch for the Miracles GA...Your Blessings are coming!

Governor Perdue's prayer for rain

It is unfortunate that our leaders did not prepare for this drought as they were urged to do. Now we are paying the price. However, all of this goes with being human. Perhaps we are learning our lesson. In the meantime, people of faith know that God forgives our sins and hears our prayers. It is totally within the context of the founding of this country for our leaders - and for us - to pray for our needs to be met.

Governor Perdue praying for rain in Georgia

Thank you Governor Perdue for standing up and publicly admonishing our need for our Creator in this country and our shortcomings in how we have missed the mark on many occasions. We need God back into our country so we can be great once again. We have taken the bible and prayer out of our schools and now we have kids bringing guns into them killing one another. Where is the sanity in that. The bible says thou shalt now kill. So why would any sane government not want that taught in our schools. Another thing it promotes, which we all need more of, is to love one another as we love ourselves. What a concept to remove from our schools and government. When a minority can get our politicians to remove God from our country I say it is time to take a stand and fight back and get God back into our affairs before we face some catastrophic event(s). Remember Sodom and Gomorra. If you think a drought is bad, how would you like to be on the receiving end of fire and brimstone. As for me and my family we intend to follow God and His ways. Let's not just pray for physical rain but for the rain of the Word to fall upon us. Praise God for He is worthy.

My prayer is that when God answers these prayers that more government officials and individuals will incorporate God in their lives and public institutions. Will you all pray with me. Thanks

Yes, we NEED the Lord! When

Yes, we NEED the Lord! When HE is our greatest need, all other things are added unto us. That was the heart of the Governor's prayer and it touched my heart to see and hear this public prayer. God hears and He will answer. Pray on, America!

Prayer gets answered

And the forecast calls for what? RAIN.People keep the prayers flowing.

praying for rain in Georgia

Governor Perdue! Thank God! Their are still men in authority who are dependent on The Most High! Lord! Hear their dries in Georgia ! Their calling on You! The omly answer!

Rain for Georgia

So excited to see a public official leading in acknowledging our deviation from God's ways. God wants to bless and send what we need, but sometimes we tie His hands. As we repent and turn, God can then be free to move on our behalf.

We're standing with you, Governor Perdue!!

Gov. Perdue

Thank God for men of integrity who are not afraid to stand up in public and acknowledge the Creator of heaven and earth! May God hear your prayer of faith Gov. Perdue and may you have an abundance of rain, enough to supply all your needs! Thank you for being an example to other politicians, as well as to all the others who will see and hear this report. God's blessings be upon you and your household!

In His Mighty Name,

Taking a Stand for the Creator

We in Texas are proud of the great State of Georgia!
A state, where the Governor would proclaim and ask for God's blessing in the form of rain.
God will surely send the answer!
Thank you for taking a stand!!!

We will see Jehovah Jireh show up andshow off for his children. He is the great provider.
Watch and see His hand of provision.

drought prayer service in GA

Thank you WDEF for posting Gov. Sonny Perdue leading
prayer for our state of GA and the SE US.

Thank you for having a good recording.

Please do more live reports on this type of event. With all of the distress in our nation and the natural
disasters we have been facing we need all of the
encouragement we can get.

I agree with the other poster about being politically
correct... what good is being politically correct
if you are not morally or ethically correct. I am
not offended by Sonny Perdue praying pubically...I encourage more of our leaders to do so...it also helps me pray more.

Governor Perdue praying for rain in Georgia

I think its time we as Americans check ourselves.

This Country has gotten into being so Politically correct that we have forgotten what founded this country in the first place. Seperation of Government and relegion was started so the Government couldn't tell the people that they had to follow a ceriain religon or that they had to follow a religion at all. If you dont believe in my god then pray to your own, If you just dont believe in God then stand there and think about the weather while I pray. Do you think that by praying openly he offened some people. What about all the people who are offened by this new point of view. Yes I said new because being Politically Correct is relitivly a new concept when thinking back to the birth of what used to be a Great Nation. Bring freedom back to America and throw out Polical Correctness.

Amen! and I agree...don't stop prayin'!...Hallaluyah!...
