About me

Kristen Johnson joined the News12 team in December 2006 as a reporter/one-person-band.  

You can now catch her co-anchoring the 11 pm weekend show.

She hails from the mountains of North Carolina but got her start in the news business as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WVVA in Bluefield, West Virginia.

Kristen graduated from Elon University in North Carolina with a major in Corporate and Broadcast Communications and a minor in Religious Studies.

Before getting out into the real world, Kristen interned at Fox 45 in Baltimore, Maryland and Fox 8 WGHP in High Point, North Carolina.

She wants to thank the many people who gave her advice and encouragement along the way.

When not at work, Kristen enjoys playing with her puppy Toby, working out, reading, or taking road trips to visit family and friends.
