About me

WDEF's Morning and Noon Meteorologist, Brian Smith, is happy to be in one of his favorite childhood destinations. Originally from Columbus, MS, Brian has done almost all there is to do in the Chattanooga area from visiting some of the city's big tourist spots to rafting 3 area rivers while growing up. Now that Chattanooga is home, look for him in the same spots.

Brian loves to spend time with his wife Rebecca and their golden retriever Nox, and enjoys the outdoors, golf and is a big football fan.

After graduating from Mississippi State Unversity with a BS, Brian spent five years at KAAL-TV in Southern Minnesota where he was Chief Meteorologist. He is glad to return to the southeast, he has had enough snow! Brian holds the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorlogical Society. He loves working with and against the weather and has a thrill for storm chasing, which has led him to the Great Plains for tornadoes and the coast for 2 hurricanes.

Look for Brian Monday-Friday starting at 5:30am and noon.
