Three Tornadoes Touch Down in our Area!

According to the NWS out of Morristown, TN, a survery has concluded that 3 tornadoes touched down in Marion, McMinn and Monroe counties Friday night. Thankfully, no significant damage was reported.

10/6/09 Cherokee Ridge Elementary 1st Grade!


It was back to 1st grade again for Weather in the Classroom as I had the chance to go the Beautiful Cherokee Ridge Elementary School in Chickamauga, GA. I had a great time with dozens of 1st graders who promised me the would follow the rules during severe weather events!

10/1/09 Rock Spring Elementary 1st Grade


It was a "make up day" for Weather in the Classroom. After last week's rain cancelled class, I was able to return to Rock Spring yesterday. I had a great time with the first grade! Of course many of them had great stories about all the water and rain!

9/30/09 Woodmore Elementary 1st Grade!


Weather in the Classroom took me to Woodmore Elementary in the Brainerd Area yesterday. I had the chance to speak with the entire 1st grade! We ALL had a great time learning about weather!

9/17/09 Latest on the Rain

Last night’s rain left it’s mark in portions on the area with flooding in East Ridge and high water on numerous roads.  

 

Reports of 2-3” of rain fell in East Ridge leading to evacuations and closed McBrien Elementary School. I have also received reports of water in buildings at Baylor School.
