Designate a place to meet, should someone in your group get separated.

Beat the heat, wear loose fitted clothing.

Wear comfortable shoes to do a lot of walking.

Drink plenty of water.

Take a hat, then guard your face from the sun and wear sunscreen.

Carry personal belongings, money etc. in a "fanny pak" or a shoulder bag that straps across the body securely.

Avoid bringing babies and newborns during peek times of the day when the sun's rays are the strongest.

Make sure at least one person in your group carries a cell phone.

Travel with a buddy, because there's always safety in numbers.

Drink only in moderation. If you drink, have a designated driver or
cab fare for a safe ride home
