Church members are shocked to hear that a popular Atlanta-area televangelist may have been the victim of spousal abuse.
Police say Juanita Bynum was attacked by her husband yesterday in a hotel parking lot.
The couple married five years ago in a televised wedding.
Now there are different versions on what happened.
Atlanta Police Spokesman Ron Campbell says "The victim had, was assaulted by her husband. She was choked at first, and while she was choked he knocked her down and began to kick and stomp on her."
Husband's Attorney says "We're very clear that he has not been aggressive, that he has, you know, a very peaceful nature and he's been consistent with that.">
Campbell: "It was actually the bellman that was at the hotel that intervened, because of her being assaulted so bad he had to intervene."
