This young chick was born at the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines just this month. It is the second time in 21 years a Chilean Flamingo has been born at the zoo.
The zoo says the fuzzy gray chick hatched recently and is finally ready to meet the public.
The opening of a Discovery Center in 2001 provided the flamingos with year-round shelter, and the conditions encourage the birds to nest.
