Two teenaged girls died when they crashed a stolen jeep following a two state police chase.
Police identified the victims at 17-year-old Natasha Carter and 16-year-old Teri Sanford, both of Winchester, Tennessee.
The chase began in South Pittsburg and then crossed into Alabama.
It ended when the jeep crashed head on into a pickup truck on Highway 35 near Rainsville, Alabama.
The Jeep reportedly reached speeds of 100 miles per hour during the chase and was in the wrong lane at the time of the crash.
The pickup driver, 57-year-old Jim Radford of Rainsville, remains in serious condition at a Huntsville Hospital.
