Police identified the victims 50-year-old Blanca Castillo, 51-year-old Gabriel Castillo, 31-year-old Gamil Castillo, and ten-year-old Javier Castillo.
Police say they were among nine people in a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban that went out of control near Salem Virginia when the driver swerved to miss a deer.
The Castillos were thrown from the vehicle.
State Police said none of the victims were wearing seat belts.
