Football Player Says Michael Vick's Dog Fighting is Nobody's Business

Honestly, I'm more appalled by the apparent stupidity of the majority of the human race than I am by a guy fighting some dogs.

Guess what guys! Dogs are animals! They aren't people!

Is it against the law to fight dogs against each other? Yes. Perfect - so he does the time because that's the what the system demands. That's fine, I don't have a problem with that. What I DO have a problem with, is people saying that Vick is "Scum", or for some ridiculous reason "Deserves to be killed".

Guess what - that burger that you ate for lunch? It was a cute cuddly cow that was SYSTEMATICALLY SLAUGHTERED BY MACHINES. Who knows, maybe you ARE a Taoist monk who brushes off his seat with a small broom every time he sits down to spare nature's creatures from harm - but I doubt it.

You know how many wild dogs fight in the wild? All of them. I'd stop worrying so much about the feral instinct of dogs, and worry a little more about solving the deep-seated issues that attach you so closely to this issue.

If any of these amazing dogs who survive are going to become adoptable, my husband and I would like to adopt one. These dogs need stability and lots of love. We would like to do that for one of them. I believe he should have gotten a $500 000 fine, locked up in jail for a minimum of 7 years and never be able to return to NFL or whatever he's from. Most importantly, he should have to serve over 100 hours of community service at a dog shelter. These pathetic athletes in basketball and football leagues think their such hot shit, but really they have accomplished absolutely nothing in their lifetime. Big deal, you play a sport, they don't deserve half of the money they get. He gets all this recognition like he's some huge hero, but he's nothing.

I have never seem or am likly to see a dogfight except, for a Hollywood movie I forget the name of, I saw years ago. I do watch football and have gone to a bullfight. I live in the San Diego area so if I choose to thou it's unlikely, this saturday night I could drive 100 miles and see a Bullfight. Or watch humans playing football pound on each other. tonight I could watch a conventional prise fight or the UFC. I don't expect anyone to try to take me to jail if I watch humans beat each other to bloody pulps or even kill each other, remember Benny "the Kid" Paret.

May I just say, I am from the UK, and I have never seen so many people stick up for these beautiful pitbull dogs. Over here in the uk, people see these dogs as a killer. I have never seen one of them but I would sure love to. How can anyone want to hurt any type of animal. What pisses me off even more is that this Vik guy (I have nver heard of him!) just because hes a 'so called famous athlete' he should get away with this. This is bollox! And now he is saying that hes being pulled over for it because hes black! haha it makes me laugh. Why would we be angry with him because hes black?! Anyone and everyone who thinks that these animals are born this way are very mistaken the only way pitts come to know to kill or maim is through human contact. My husband and I adopted a Pitt Bull and am quite pleased to say that she has never showed any kind of aggresion twards any of our other pets, 2 boxers, a pomaranian and two cats. She only gets "itchy" when my husband and i phsyically play/rough house together and then she only tries to get in between us and keep him away from me or if someone knocks on the door she lets her prescence be known, but once i let the person in she just wants to climb into their laps and lick on them. Just because he is a football star shouldnt matter because anyone in the lime light should know better. The backwoods redneck people who live around here go to remote places to do this kind of crap. They don't do it in their back yard. Like someone said earlier these animals were bred to hunt boar and other large game not to fight each other people did that. On another site someone wrote about a lady getting attacked by her dogs (pitts). She was trying to break them up from fighting. He said something about thats why these dogs are bad news. Unfortunately, I don't see the law helping to deter any of these aholes. They are a waste of a life and will never learn, no matter how many times they are caught doing something. I am outraged. How could someone with supposed intelligence be involved in this sordid activity. It is disgusting. I believe that all of the football players need to be banned forever from playing football or any other sport for being involved in this dog fighting. Please, someone tell me why or how it could possibly be a misdemeanor in the state of Tennessee for fighting dogs? I find people who participate in blood sports that involve innocent animals (that are unable to decide or speak for themselves, LIKE CHILDREN) absolutely DESPICABLE and SHOULD face FELONY charges and serve a MINIMUM of six years per animal. I feel if you are sick enough to attend and event like this you should go to jail for more than one year and be caged like an animal, treated like the animal was treated, unfortunately humans MUST be treated humanely while incarcerated.

I am absolutely incensed that human beings can find anything remotely worth watching two dogs fight in a pit and rip each other to pieces, to the point where one of them is nothing more than a side of blood soaked meat, and has to be put down. Furthermore, I personally find the sight of the dogs used in such pursuits to be absolutely disgusting, and they are animals that can not be trusted not do go berserk at any time and attack anything or anyone in their immediate vicinity. It has happened here in Australia on several occasions in recent years, and we have had the foresight to outlaw the predominant breeds that are used in the illegal and foul past-time of dog-fighting. In the case of Mr Vick, he is a high-profile sporting identity, and he is paid an inordinate ammount of money for his skills, but he has no shred of common decency or intelligence if he gets involved in these sorts of pursuits. Frankly, he should be tossed into the pit with two dogs fighting and see how he likes getting up close and personal!! I have a feeling that he would want out of there as quickly as humanly possible, and not want to soil his expensive clothes or shoes in the process. As you can probably gather, I have no time for the sport or the moronic people who get their "kicks" from it, and I think that most decent human beings on this earth are of a similar mindset. My concern is that this sort of "sport", if the cruelty and pain caused to the animals involved by their human "masters" can be called such, will now be driven underground even further because of the focus that will be brought to bear upon it, and that is not a good thing at all. My belief is that the legislators must make the laws even tougher than they are at present, and give the perpetrators of this obscene pursuit serious gaol time and confiscate all of their assets and pass them over to animal welfare groups to assist in the care and welfare of all animals.

I would never attend a game that Vick plays in and I hope no one else does. Hopefully the team owners will suspend him and better yet - he does need to go to jail. What he did is digusting. Athletes, entertainers, politicians, celebrities, should be held to the same accountability for their crimes as everyone else not in the spotlight. Vick is not above the law. If there was some way to sterilize (neuter) the worthless human beings who get excited by seeing pets in pain so they would be prevented from reproducing other sickos like themselves, I would be all for it.
