Vigil Keeps Theresa Parker in Thoughts and Prayers

More than a month since she disappeared, and there's still no sign of missing Walker County 911 dispatcher Theresa Parker. However, fiends and family aren't about to give up hope, prompting a candlelight vigil tonight.
WDEF News 12's Chris Nettleton has more in our top local story.
Friends, family, co-workers and some supporters who have simply been touched by Theresa Parker's story, packed the pavilion at the Walker County Civic Center for a prayer vigil. Organizers like Rebecca Brown, hope the the event keeps Theresa in the community's thoughts and prayers.
"We just wanted to make sure that it stays out in the news. We want Theresa home, and in order to bring her home we need to keep it in the news and keep it fresh on people's minds so that if anybody knows or has seen anything they'll come forward," said Brown.
But after more than a month of searching without sign of Theresa it's hard for anyone to hold onto hope.
"Yes you do worry about whether or not she has passed, and where she's at. But regardless of if she has passed on, we still want her home. She deserves to come home to her family, and her family deserves to have her home," said Brown.
But bringing Theresa back home will take a lot of work and that's why the family's taking donations to help support the search effort.
"If you think about how many people, over her 15 years at the 911 center, she's helped. If everyone of those people just put forth a dollar, just imagine how much it would be, you know? How much we would have," said Brown.
"She's done too much justice out here, served too many people, put in too many hours for us not to find her. So we're gonna find her, we're gonna find her," said former coworker Dallas Patrick.
And it's that mind set, that keeps their flame of hope from burning out.
