Junior Takes the Wheel For Kyle Busch
When Dale Earnhardt Junior drove Kyle Busch's car for the final nine laps at
Texas, was it a good gesture on Junior's part, or did it seem out of place?
NASCAR rules permit such moves, but it sure did look funny seeing Earnhardt crawl
out of Kyle's car.
Kyle crashed his car ironically into Earnhardt. Kyle didn't think his car
would be repaired, so he disappeared. When his car was fixed, his race team couldn't
find him. So they got Earnhardt to finish up for them. Earnhardt was done
for the day after being rear-ended by Kyle.
What if that had been Jeff Gordon that left the track, would Earnhardt
have been asked to get behind the 24 car? Earnhardt is in the final year of
his contract with DEI. He says driving Kurt's car had nothing to do with
any possible job changes.
