Former Chattanooga TV Weatherman Neal Pascal will not go to jail for committing mortgage fraud.
He was sentenced this morning in Federal Court.
Instead, the judge gave him three years of probation and three months under house arrest.
He will also perform community service and pay a four thousand dollar fine.
But the most unusual penalty involves his TV experience.
The judge ordered Pascal to produce a video explaining real estate fraud.
Prosecutors asked for at least a year of jail time, but the judge cited three reasons for not locking him up.
1. Pascal worked with prosecutors from the beginning, including wearing a wite when he talked to other suspects who were later indicted.
2. None of the lenders lost any money in the deal.
3. Pascal kept up the properties so they were actually worth more afterward.
After the hearing, Pascal said he was greatful for the sentence, but he was prepared for the worst.
