Chattanooga is now home to the only authorized dealership for a unique vehicle option.

The three-wheeled vehicles called Tuk Tuks are popular overseas.

A local couple look to make them a hit here in America.

Bill Schultz, Tuk Tuk USA says, "It's just so different. It's so unique nobody's ever seen anything like it over here unless they've seen one on television."

The Tuk Tuk is coming to America.

And the three-wheeled vehicles will be distributed out of downtown Chattanooga.

Schultz, "I'd worked here during 1971 for 4 years when this was a Chevrolet dealership. And I worked here again in the 80s when it was a Porche/Audi dealership."

Now it will be a Tuk Tuk Dealership.

And Bill Schultz owns this Broad Street location.

Roy Jordan, "For right now there's 12 body styles which has the 3 passenger, the 6 passenger that also goes all the way up to 15."

Tuk Tuks are EPA and DOT approved.

They can run on propane and natural gas, and can go up to 63 miles per hour.

The first shipment is held up at the port...some of which have already been sold.

Schultz, "We hope to have them arranged in our showroom here within a week."

But before that...

Jordan, "When I mentioned to her it would be neat to leave the wedding in a Tuk Tuk it was that easy."

The showroom will be filled with guests for the third marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jordan.

In Thailand people have two weddings and the couple wanted to add an American one.

Jordan, "Having the Tuk Tuk this time being the 3rd wedding it makes it even more special."

Tuk Tuks costs from around 10 to 15 thousand dollars.

Schultz says he's gotten 6 to 8 hundred website inquiries over the past six months.

And a lot of people with scooters are considering trading them in for a roomier Tuk Tuk.
