This week the scene brings you the next evolution in southern rock as chattanooga plays host to one of the southeast's biggest up and coming bands...Swamp Da Wamp.

Coming together in the recording studios of Charlotte North Carolina... this seasoned crew of career musicians are poised to take the Rock *and* country charts by storm.

I sat down with the boys from Charlotte to to find out what's the secret of there almost universal appeal.

" It's fun music...it's got a southern flavor, it's just good music. It's about storytelling as opposed to just chopping words together"-Gig Michaels Vocals/Guitar

These guys have been telling their stories on the road all over the country with acts like: Shooter jennings, Foghat, and David Allen Coe.

And they're already offered headlining spots on the Jagermeister, and easy rider spring tours.

In the midst of all this touring they still found time to film a documentary about their journey to being a headlining act at the country's biggest and baddest motorcycle rally...Sturgis.

" We filmed all the way from...we did like 25 days out. There and back. We were actually there about ten days. For nine shows in ten days it was just grueling, but it was well worth it...the stories we got."-Michaels

With their success in the studio *and* on the road...swamp da wamp is already receiving commercial radio play in major markets.

Their party anthem "Dance" landed at number four on the satellite radio country charts.

And Swamp Da wamp's second full length studio album is slated to hit the streets in January 2009.

Stand up: That's right Chattanooga don't miss a chance to say you saw them back when...because this band is here to stay and *could* be the next big thing.

So grab your trucker hats, check your worries at the door and get to midtown music hall friday night and prepare to get " swamp da wamped "
