A georgia state patrol helicopter took to the sky, as search and rescue teams looked for any trace of Judy Payne.
The wife and mother of two never showed up for work Monday and no one knew she had plans to visit the park. Rescuers say the rugged and steep terrain makes the search challenging. They use a standard search system, marking off the most likely places where they might find someone. Investigators talked to campers Wednesday about what they saw on in the park on Monday.
Kim Hatcher, GA State Parks Public Affairs, "Somebody had said they thought they saw her around noon at the picnic shelter, that hasn't been confirmed but it is a possibility. It is normal that if we found a car parked, particularly at a park like this where the trails are so treacherous, they ran a tag, spoke to the husband found out she had not come home."
This is still considered a missing persons case. The search will continue until they feel they've thoroughly covered the park.
