TDOT has suspended painting work on the Missionary Ridge bridges over I-24 following last Friday's bizarre accident.
TDOT says work will resume on May 28th and Tennessee OSHA inspectors will observe the crews for a few days.
Friday afternoon, a construction worker was killed when a semi travelling below on the interstate hit a dangling cable.
It struck the worker on the bridge above.
