Where's my stimulus rebate check? That's just one of many questions a lot of people are asking.
Reports indicated people who filed with direct deposited should have their checks by the end of the week. Hours away from week's end many are left empty handed, disappointed and confused. Kenneth Benson and his family expected to have their share of free money from the IRS by now. But like many of the people sounding off on WDEF dot com, though all the requirements suggest they qualify for direct deposit... with the week over in just minutes, nothing yet. And as for the rebate amount, for a lot of folks, its just not adding up. Benson, "The tax people said we was going to get back I think it was 1200 but it said on the paper that I seen it was 600 for couple and 300 per child and I got two children so I couldn't, Seem to me like it equalled up to 1800." And it's not much better online for a lot of folks asking 'Where's my stimulus check?' It didn't work for me or some of our viewers. The government encourages patience. Check out the schedule at www.irs.gov [1] which goes by the last two digits of your social security number. But keep in mind, it could be even later. The IRS website suggests you should allow 2 weeks from the date shown on the schedule to get your payment. For Kenneth Benson, it's better late than never. Benson, "I just hope it gets here and quick. (laugh) "
And to get your rebate on schedule you must have filed your taxes early enough for the IRS to process them by April 15th.
Processing times vary.
Also people who got a Refund Anticipated Loan will get a paper check.
