FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Carl Edwards held off Jimmie Johnson
over a two-lap overtime sprint to the finish to win Sunday at Texas
Motor Speedway.
It was Edwards' series-best third victory of the season, but
first since his team was severely penalized for not having its oil
tank covered following his win last month in Las Vegas. Edwards was
docked 100 points - which knocked him out of the Sprint Cup Series
points lead - and his crew chief was suspended for six races.
But with Robbie Reiser filling in atop the pit box, Edwards
dominated the race and denied Johnson his first win of the season.
