[0] [0]A man who made his mark on Chattanooga television has died.

His name was Tommy Reynolds.

But you may know him better as Dr. Shock.

Reynolds was a programming director at WTVC in the early seventies, when he put on the cape of Dr. Shock to introduce horror movies back in the seventies on W-T-V-C.

He later brought Shock Theater here to W-D-E-F.

Dr. Shock began as a simple horror movie spoof..with side characters like Dingbat and Nurse Goodbody.

But the show eventually worked in commentary on the local issues and politicians of the day.

Reynolds left Chattanooga in the 80's for a T-V job in Huntsville.

That's where he retired.

And that's where Tommy Reynolds died Sunday night.

Family members say he was 75 years old.

Here is a link to a Dr. Shock tribute page [1], including audio from the opening of the show.
