[0]Denise MartinContestants on the hit reality show "Survivor" run scams on each other all the time. But now, it appears one of them ran a con on the show itself.
During the reunion show Sunday night, Denise Martin, the lunch lady, told the crowd, she wasn't able to return to her old job when she returned from China and had to make money working odd hours as a janitor. The show's producer then offered her $50,000 for her troubles.
Now, it turns out, Denise had actually accepted the janitors position months before shooting "Survivor" because it offered better pay and benefits.
Denise tried to explain herself during an appearance on CBS's "The Early Show." I "tried to go back to my original job and I truly believe that, I loved that job that was one of the most favorite parts of my life and when I was away from my family for so long I just wanted things to go back to the way they were before I was on the nightshift."
Denise couldn't go back to her lunch lady position, because it was already filled.
As for the money given to her by the show's producer -- she wouldn't say if she planned to keep it.
