The Whitfield County Address project is nearing completion, officials said.
The final step in the conversion process involves updating the telephone company database records.
On behalf of Whitfield County, GeoComm Inc. 911 database technicians will be calling some residents to corroborate or clarify resident information as it pertains to the Enhanced 911 system.
Technicians may be calling between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
The technician will identify himself or herself as working with Whitfield County on the addressing project. Information provided to GeoComm will be considered confidential and its distribution restricted to only those parties involved in the E911 process.
If the resident has concerns or questions about this process or providing information over the phone, the technician will provide them with contact information for a Whitfield County 911 representative.
