Which Super Bowl Commercial Won the Ad Game?

Most year's we watch Super Bowl ads just for entertainment value.

The ads have become as much a draw as the game itself.

In fact.. More viewers will re-watch the commercials on line than will watch highlights of the game.

So the question now is... Who won the ad bowl?

Who decides which commercial scores with the folks at home?

The industry has accepted the USA Today ad meter as the gold standard.

They use focus groups to watch the ads like the rest of us.

USA Today analyst Larua Partrecca says, "And they watch the games & they hold hand-held meeters and they simply rank the ads on the commercial breaks and you can see in real time... Oh my gosh.. They love the ad.. They gave it a 9.6 or they hated that ad & gave it a 2.1"

So how do you win the ad meter?

Partrecca says, "There is no one method to succed in a super bowl ad meter, but there are some things that tend to work year after year."

Petrecca says humor with a surprise ending usuallyoften works, and babies always work.

Animals also score well.

This year, there was a new twist... People stripping down to their underwear.

Dockers.. Bud Light and Career Builder all gave us underwear this Super Bowl.

But men and women respond differently.

Researchers say men are looking for attractive people in their ads.

Women love the animals.
