WDEF-TV News 12 Welcomes Nordia's Twins
Bradley EppsA tune by legendary songbird Dinah Washington once coined the phrase "what a difference a day makes...24 little hours."
A few weeks of bedrest made all the difference in the world for Nordia Epps who gave birth to her twin sons Bradley and Braylon early Thursday morning.
Braylon EppsAfter a consult with her doctors, Nordia and husband Eric made the decision Wednesday evening to deliver the next day.
"It all happened very quickly," said Nordia. "They carried me into delivery at 7:30 (am)...the babies were born around 8 o'clock...and I was back in my room at 8:30 (am)."
Nordia reached Week 31 of her pregnancy earlier this week -- quite a milestone for her after being on bedrest for 7 weeks to allow the boys to get as much nutrition and energy as possible.
The rest apparently paid off for both mother and babies. While doctors and the expectant parents were eyeing a December due date, the boys got an earlier arrival.
Bradley Arrington Epps tipped the baby scales at 4 pounds, 4 ounces.
Younger brother (by about 5 minutes) Braylon Ellington Epps weighed in at 2 pounds, 8 ounces.
Proud father Eric says Nordia and the babies are "doing really well."
Since the boys are preemies, they'll have to stay in neonatal intensive care for awhile until they're a bit bigger and stronger to go home.
Congratulations Epps Family from your WDEF-TV News 12 Family!
