Vitamin D Heart Disease
Comments Below: 0
Vitamin D helps promote strong bones. But did you know it may also strengthen your heart?
Some researchers think too little Vitamin D can raise a person's risk for heart disease. It may be because of cells called macrophages. They remove excess cholesterol from the blood. Scientists found these cells got clogged with cholesterol in people with diabetes and low levels of Vitamin D. Fortunately, it's a problem that's easy to fix. It's hard to get Vitamin D from food but you can get it from a supplement or simply by spending 15 to 20 minutes in the sun. Make sure the sunshine hits your face and hands.
But don't forget sunscreen. Stay safe and healthy.
