The city declares Saturday Vietnam Veteran's Day.
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 942 hosted a ceremony to remember the 35th anniversary of troops leaving Vietnam. James Benton was one of six local men to lose their lives fighting the war.
Vets HonoredHis mother Mary Ellen is thankful the community remembers the sacrifice of her son. Mary Ellen Benton, "He has been gone since 1967 still missing, I wish they could at least find his remains and bring him to America, to the United States, I would feel easier I think."
The road in front of the park in Soddy Daisy is temporarily renamed Vietnam Veterans Boulevard.
