Vicki Baugh Has Successful Knee Surgery
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Lady Vols forward Vicki Baugh has
undergone knee surgery.
Tennessee's sports medicine director Jenny Moshak says the
Tuesday surgery to repair a torn ligament in her left knee was
successful, and Baugh will begin rehabilitation immediately.
The 6-foot-4 freshman from Sacramento, Calif., tore her anterior
cruciate ligament in the NCAA championship game against Stanford,
which the Lady Vols won for their eighth title.
Baugh drove through the key, but went down after hitting a layup
with about seven minutes left to play and a 55-44 lead that the
Lady Vols wouldn't relinquish.
Baugh played in all 38 games, averaging 5.3 points per game and
four rebounds in 13.1 minutes per contest. She shot a team best
55.2 percent from the field and knocked in 77.8 percent of her free
throws.
