UTC students help their counterparts at Union University.
They started collecting funds today to pay for relief items. Student government members placed donations buckets across campus and solicited classmates for contributions.
Union's student body president called UTC this morning to provide a list of ways to help. "He said the things they need, number one labor to help clean-up their campus and the things students could use to do the labor rakes, shovles, gloves, things like that so that's what the money will go toward," says Bill Staley, UTC's Student Government President.
Staley says he can't imagine what happened at Union happening at UTC place or other local dorms.
He hopes to organize student service trips to Jackson this weekend to assist in clean-up from Tuesday's tornadoes.
