Radio station US-101 celebrates its 25th anniversary this Friday.
It went on-air June 20th, 1983.
The station has won 9 CMA station of the year awards and conducted successful fundraisers for St. Jude and the Forgotten Child Fund.
Afternoon drive-time DJ Dex says US-101 has always been about this community.
He says, "We have the best listeners in the world. They really treat us well, whether it's on the phone, when we're out at one of our appearances. Bottom line is, our listeners have made us what we are today."
US-101 will have a 5 hour special on Friday night starting at seven remembering its 25 years.

I have an autographed picture from Beth Green. I was about 4 years old, and the local skating ring was hosting a skate-a-thon for the American Heart Association. While Beth was there I went up to her and asked for her autograph and she gladly gave me one. Congratulations on 25 years on the air!
