
Two Weak Tornadoes Confirmed in Marion County, Funnel Cloud in Grundy County

The National Weather Service confirms two weak tornadoes touched down in Marion County during this past Thursday's storms.
An EF-0 tornado reaching maximum speeds of 70 mph hit Monteagle at 6:15pm CST Thursday evening. It had a path 1/2 mile in length and 50 yards in width. A few trees were snapped off and significant debris flew in the air in the path of this tornado.
An EF-0 tornado with maximum wind speeds of 70 mph also touched down 5 miles northwest of Jasper in Marion County. This occured at 6:48pm CST Thursday evening. This tornado had a path 2/10 mile in length and a width of 30 yards. A few trees were snapped in the path of this tornado.
A funnel cloud was reported in Grundy County, TN Thursday evening but it did not reach the ground.
