kOne more group jumps on board to fight the Tennessee-American water rate hike.

The Chattanooga Association of REALTORS is the latest to join citizens, businesses and politicians publicly opposing the 20-point-four percent increase.

The group says the area has the most expensive water rates out of Tennessee's six largest cities and warns against the affects on the local real estate market.

Chris Sexton with the Chattanooga Association of REALTORS adds, "The greater Chattanooga area has a great quality of life and we don't want to detract from that at all. Having these high rate increases going on all the time..is just not good for people looking to relocate to the area."

Tennessee American's President John Watson says the rate increase is necessary because the company is also experiencing rising costs.

The TRA holds a hearing on the request August 18th in Chattanooga.
