Tennessee Trooper Suspended Over Racially Charged Email Sent to Hundreds of State Workers

It is NOT a crime to hold ANY beliefe in the United States of the Offended. It is not SUPPOSED to be a crime to VOICE these opinions.

However, while not illegal, it demonstrates an incredible appearance of impropriety to send that from the office. THAT was the real problem.

Sadly, he will probably lose his job over this.

He should be fired. Not for telling the truth, but for not having the backbone to stick to his convictions. This alone tells me that he should not be running around packing a gun in the name of the law. He sounds pretty stupid to me. I don't like stupid law enforcement. I don't like anyone who does or says something and then back crawls. It's true, there is a double standard because I've experienced it. A young black gang of at least a dozen attacked me on main st. a few years ago and I had to dispense justice myself(or get beaten to death) because there were no cops around. The gang got a warning from the police. If this had been a dozen whites on one black, they would all be in federal prison for civil rights violations. Where was my civil rights while I was being beaten with a large stick and being kicked and stomped? Just for walking down the street on their so-called turf and for being born white. My ancestors were poor immigrants who never owned any slaves. I get sick, hearing about the plight of the black man in America. There's not one slave on the street these days. Get over this crap and stop blaming white people for everything. I'm not responsible for slavery and I'll be damned if I will pay for it.

How can this story not generate any citizen feedback? Even after this story has been online for two days, I wind up being Comment #1. Aren't there any readers concerned about this trooper's soul, or worried about his objectivity while performing his duties? Aren't there any racists eager to speak out in support of this lunatic trooper? I'm afraid the slap-on-the-wrist 15-day suspension says a lot about our high tolerance for racism in Tennessee.

You see just another case of people getting upset when a white person sends something like this but if it had of been an african american or mexican had of sent it then it would have been perfectly fine. The white man/woman is criticized so much, and accused of being racist when the minority rate is being shifted to the white person.

The stipid SOB indicated he intended to send this offensive e-mail to himself and inadvertently sent it to hundreds of state employees. He should be fired for being stupid. Further, when was the last time he or any white officer shot and killed a white suspect ???

I recieved this very email from a family member. While I did not forward it, it makes many good points. This article has taken out of context parts and leaves out others that would aid in understanding. I do not think it is something that should be sent out to 700 receipients but the story could at least avoid being misleading. Be fair to the officer when you report the story, don't just pic and choose parts to sell the story.

Suspending a Tennessee trooper without pay for 15 days plus sensitivity training is such a load of trash. This political correctness is a cancer that eating away at the moral character of this nation. When did it become a crime to speak the truth. I dont have a problem with this officer being suspending for sending the email. Misapporation of state equipment. It is the sensitivity training I have a problem with. If you read this email as it was sent to me, I see nothing wrong with it.
It is hi time that this country regrow their backbone.

All things done under the cloak of darkness sooner or later find their way to the light. So sad! Someone in such a high profile profession who can take the freedom and even the life of an individual in the blink of the eye, yet harbors such intolerance and bigotry. Sad for America. Sad for the world that such attitudes remain a constant in our society.

Amazing! This person is allowed to use a computer and doesn't know how to properly send email? Of course,there are lots of people like him out there; can turn the computer on, send and read email, but, unaware of the more important parts of doing so.
Trooper, when you are sending email, make sure YOUR name is the only one in the address box, then you will only send it to yourself. If you don't understand that idea, talk to one of your more technologically adept friends.
As for whether or not this person is racist? Nah, no more than Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, but, since he's white, that's different.

I don't see nothing wrong with that email. Plus it sounds like to me he is telling the truth. You no it and I no its the truth. What ever happened to freedom of speech. They ought to give him the nobel prize for telling it like it is.

this is so not racist i have had this sent in a text to me its not a big deal it just stating the facts as they are and saying they are proud to be white if this was turned around and said "BE PROUD TO BE ANY OTHER COLOR" this wouldnt be in the news today..this isnt the whole thing either..i say leave the guy alone in the first place it was prob a foward sent to him from someone else...its not racist and wasnt ever meant to be....

what an idiot. He may have the right to feel and say those things. But don't write an email specifically saying to send it on, and then claim he was just "emailing it to himself." please. if you want to speak your mind, speak it, don't back down on it later when you get caught and it is unfavorable to you.
