Within the next few years, Hamilton county should land billions of dollars of investment.
Much of that will be associated with the Volkswagen plant and its suppliers.
An economic study released on Friday shows why Hamilton County businesses should get first consideration over outside bidders.
U-T-C economist Dr. Bruce Hutchison conducted the study for the group.. Hire Here.
He says his research shows when a local company gets the contract...it brings 23-thousand dollars more in taxes for every million dollars spent.

"I find that Hamilton county would be advantaged by additional tax revenue equal to 2% of the contract."
State Senator Andy Berke hosted the meeting, which was attended by Rep. JoAnn Favors and Council members Carol Berz , Andre McGary and Manny Rico.
