Senator Corker Says Current Health Care Bill a Mistake, But Local Woman Says Reform a Must

Congress may be on Thanksgiving vacation... But the Health Care debate rages on.
Wednesday Senator Bob Corker told Rotarians in Chattanooga the President tackled the wrong health issues first.
But while the politicians debate health care, the people back home have to live with it...And for some, it's a struggle.
One local woman says something has to happen...
Jami Keener says, "Take their health care away. Let them see what it's like."
For Keener the health care reform debate is that simple...
The 27 year old mother of two is fighting a kidney disease that could leave her in need of a transplant.
Eighteen months ago she joined the TennCare system when she lost her job.
In August she learned she was no longer covered, "We have nuclear weapons for crying out loud, and we can't take care of our people?"
Keener gets help from Project Access and her doctor's help with her medication.
But without that assistance her 8 pills a day would cost $350 a month.
Keener says she doesn't have the answers for Health Care Reform, but something has to be done.
Now the health care reform bill goes to the Senate...
It's a 2000 page document that Senator Bob Corker says just won't work, "Driving up private health insurance rates, using 6 years worth of costs and 10 years worth of revenues. That just doesn't pass the common sense test."
The Tennessee republican says the Trillion dollar health care reform bill will cause private health insurance rates to skyrocket as much as 60%.
He says reform must happen, but the current bill isn't the way to go, "I do hope that we'll be able to set down together and stop this bad thing from happening..."
Keener says, "Yeah, somebody's gonna have to pay for it. It may be my kids that pay for it. It may end up being their grandkids that pay for it. You know, but we're paying for stuff that happened back in the day."
For Jami Keener the only wrong choice is doing nothing...
Her husband lost his job two weeks ago...but the bills keep coming, "If it's not gonna be bi-partisan it needs to be...somebody needs to do something."
Discussion on the bill won't begin until after Thanksgiving.
Senator Corker hopes for 6 to 8 weeks of debate.

Listen, this healthcare bill is only going to benefit illegal immigrants. Pelosi has to take care of her illegals. Obama isn't really an American. He was born in Kenya, and popped up from nowhere to win the election. Were the illegals voting? I beleive they were! They have fake ID's you know. The only way to change is if we all start saying what we want, even then, it may not matter. and Just to throw this in , "CBS" Don't just blurr same sex love scenes, ban them completely!

No Healthcare Until They're Legalized...

Technically illegal immigrants won't get coverage under the current health care bill... DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano says she won't push for complete immigration reform until early 2010 (President Obama supports the idea of offering citizenship to illegal immigrants in good standing). That buys a little extra time to find the money to pay for it...
The 2000-plus page bill gives 31 Million additional Americans healthcare coverage, but nearly 15 Million of them will likely be on Medicaid. That's not very good coverage.
If forcing taxpayers to pay for everyone else's horrible coverage (while still having to pay for their private insurance which will cost roughly 60% more) isn't despicable enough... The current bill takes $464 Billion out of Medicare to help defer its (the Health Care Bill's) cost. So... What happens when Medicare runs out of money?
Health Care Reform is a must... But this plan sucks...

If both you and your husband lost your jobs get up and go find the work, it is that simple. I know it is hard work when you are in that situation; however, you have to do it for your kids. All you are doing now is setting an example for your children that says when things get tough they can always rely on others to provide for them and that it is ok because they are “paying for stuff that happened back in the day.”

The healthcare industries, just like the banking industry, and insurance industries, have forgotten that their financial health depends ultimately not on overcharges and robber fees for their bottom line but on the healthy bottom line of their consumers. These industries are in financial trouble because their consumers are being put out of business by the industries’ unmitigated overcharging for services. They do not recognize that the consumer should come first because without financially healthy consumers there can be no healthy business. I am very upset that Republican and some Democrat congressmen are making the very same people (who are taxpayers) that have suffered at the hands of these industries, bail these greed ridden industries out without any real strings attached, thus rewarding them for their bad stewardship and mismanagement and robbing of the American consumer.

NO HEALTHCARE BILL! I am sick of the government and their quest to dictate my every move.
If the current bill were to pass through congress and become law, you would be forced to purchase health insurance. If you failed to get coverage under “an Acceptable Plan”, you would be required to pay a fine of two and a half percent of your gross income. If your employer fails to give you coverage under “an Acceptable Plan”, they could face a fine of eight percent of their payroll.
I have a better idea. I will determine whether or not I want to purchase health insurance, I will determine if it is an acceptable plan, I will determine how I would like to spend my money, and the government can get their nose out of my A#$.
