With gas prices hovering near 4 bucks a gallon, many people park four wheeled gas guzzlers and turn to two wheels. If you're considering switching to a scooter, we have advice from the experts. Riders in town for the country's largest scooter rally describe the vehicles' virtues.

They're fairly fast, fun, and fuel efficient.

Craig Huard, "It tops out at about 75 miles an hour."

Bryan Howard, "It's the most fun you can have on two wheels."

Brittanie Holland, "It's less that five bucks to fill up and I can ride for weeks."

It's no wonder more drivers settle on scooters now to beat the gas crunch.

Howard, "Of course the economy."

That's why Bryan Howard got his three months ago.

Howard, "This is a Stella which is a company in India that made this model for Vespa."

Howard, "I'm getting 63 miles to the gallon. You can't beat that with gas prices near 4 dollars."Craig Huard's had his ride for a year.

Believe it or not it can beat 63 miles per gallon.

Huard, "It gets 80 miles to the gallon so two weeks to work I spend roughly around 12 dollars in gas as opposed to my car which would about 50 or 60."

Holland, "This is a 1978 P 1 25 X. It's a Vespa."

Brittanie Holland's classic Vespa comes pretty close to competing with its newer counterparts.

Holland, "If I'm not riding very much, I can fill up maybe once a month but if I'm riding every day then I can ride at least for a week on 5 bucks."

But she warns some people might want to think twice about going with two wheels.

Holland, "I mean not everybody is cut out to ride in the rain. If you're a girl you have to deal with you know helmet hair and you can't wear skirts when you ride."

Otherwise, they come highly recommended.

Howard, "Oh, buy one. They'll have a blast."

Huard, "It's definitely the way to go."

Scooters can cost any where from around $2,000 used to around $5,000 dollars new depending on the model.
