Red Bank Wins Region Baseball Title
Red Bank beat Bradley Central 10-4 in the Region 3-AAA baseball finals on Wednesday at Red Bank high school.
The Lions grabbed a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a three-run homer by Cory Emery. It's the fourth
straight game that Emery has homered in.
Bradley Central rallied in the top of the third. The Bears scored two runs in the third to cut Red Bank's lead to 4-2, and they wanted more.
Still in the third, Bradley had the bases loaded
with one out. Red Bank brought in Brandon Ward to relieve pitcher Cullen Clabo.
Brandon Ward Ward struck out two batters to end the Bears scoring threat. Ward finished the game with 11 strikeouts. With the win, Red Bank will host a sub-state game on Friday, while Bradley Central must hit the road. Teams must win on Friday in order to advance to Spring Fling.
