"Project Hilltop" To Bring Major Economic Development to Catoosa County

In Ft. Oglethorpe... officials are one step closer to revealing plans for "Project Hilltop."

The city annexed a large portion of a 62 acre site around I-75 and Cloud Springs Road Wednesday night.

City and county officials are working to develop the site as part of dealings with an unnamed company.

Mayor Ronnie Cobb says the development is not related to the automotive industry...

He says the new business should create as many as 200 high paying jobs, "Once the site is excavated, given the location of it there's gonna be other opportunities on that site and so... We're not looking at just one business going in there. We're looking at several."

Mayor Cobb says bids for site excavation will be accepted right after the first of the year.

He says the business announcement could come as early as Christmas.
