Northwest Georgia gets aggressive in the fight to lure Volkswagen suppliers.

The Regional Economic Development Authority brought economic developers, industrial experts and other business professionals together Tuesday.

The goal was to make sure Northwest Georgia stays competitive in the hunt for new business.

Presenters focused on the need for site readiness.

Senator Jeff Mullis is the director of the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority.  He explained how they will be aggressive: "If we find a company from another country that's interested in Northwest Georgia we've going to go see them and make sure they understand the great quality of life that we have not only in Northwest Georgia but also in the Chattanooga area so they know it's a great place to do business, to grow a business, family or just to visit."

Presenters also stated the need to focus on newer markets like green technology.
