Some times it takes a little creativity to avoid the summer heat, other times it's pretty obvious where a chill can be found.
The Tennessee Aquarium offers a sub-arctic environment. But, we do have to warn you, it is a black tie affair.
When it comes to ways to escape the heat, Amy Graves has a pretty cool job.
Graves says, "If I could tailor make my job, this would be it."
Amy's been with the Aquarium for nine years and she gets to play with little guys in tuxedos.
Graves says, "During this heat it's fantastic coming to work with penguins."
That's right, while the rest of us melt in the scorching August temperatures, Amy bundles up.
Graves says, "This morning I got out of the car in my tee shirt and shorts and I was mad at myself because I forgot my sweatshirt."
Eight year old Omar Islam says, "They live in like Atartica... ...They like it where it's cold."
Omar has it right, the penguins do like it cold.
Penguins Rock is set to a chilly 40 degrees.
While that's a little to cool for most of us, to them it feels a little like summer.
Eight year old Tatyana Toro says, "I guess it's pretty cold."
The Aquarium is home to two types of the sharply dressed birds, Gentoos and Macaronis.
The penguins are on loan from Sea World, but don't worry, the Penguin Exhibit is permanent and the occupants aren't leaving any time soon.
The 19 birds eat about 60 pounds of fish per day and I've been assured its restaurant quality.
While you may not want a piece of the penguin sushi, in a mid-summer heatwave, more than a few people would be glad to share their rock.
Graves says, "It's just like walking into a refrigerator."
The Tennessee Aquarium is open from 10:AM until 6:PM every day except Christmas and Thanksgiving.
