Nightfall Concert Series Friday, June 4th

RiverCity Company and Chattanooga Presents continue the 2010 Nightfall Concert Series this Friday, June 4, on the BlueCross Stage in Miller Plaza with a headline performance by singer/pianist Josh Charles.
Josh Charles may have won the ultimate endorsement for a New Orleans-style singer/pianist: that of New Orleans’ great musical ambassador, blues/jazz legend Dr. John. Charles became a protégé of Dr. John at the age of 14, incorporating much of his mentor’s style and philosophy into his own musicianship. Charles’ most recent release, Love, Work & Money, was recorded in New Orleans and New York, and features members of Dr. John’s band, as well as his touring band.
Opening act Power Players Band will take the stage at 7 p.m., followed by Josh Charles at 8 p.m.
Celebrating its 23rd season, this FREE concert series continues to bring an eclectic mix of rock, blues, jazz, reggae, zydeco, funk, bluegrass and folk music to Downtown Chattanooga. This 16-week series is held on the BlueCross Stage in Miller Plaza on Friday evenings from Memorial Day weekend through September 24th. Nightfall will keep its commitment to the local arts community by featuring Chattanooga musicians for each opening act, followed by headline performances by national and international talent. Beer, wine, food and non-alcoholic drink concessions are available on site. No outside food or beverages are allowed.
Corporate sponsors for this year’s series are Fletcher Bright Company, Kelly Auto Group, Bud Light, Warehouse Row, Chattanooga Coca-Cola Bottling Co, Walden Security, Chattanooga Choo Choo, The Pulse, Fox 61 and NPR/Music 88.
