Mother Bear Killed in Catoosa County

Wildlife officials say they had to put down a mother bear prowling in Catoosa County.
Apparently she was hit by a car sometime yesterday near Georgia 1-51.
When they finally tracked down the injured bear.. They decided it would be more humane to kill it.
The mother bear had two cubs with her when they visited neighborhoods in the county.
Wildlife officials believe the cubs are old enough now to survive on their own.

GUESS THE NATURE SOCIETY NEEDED ANOTHER STUFFED ANIMAL TO PUT IN THEIR LOBBY. WHY NOT TRANQUILIZE THE BEAR AND THE CUBS, ACTUALLY HELP HER, THEN RE-RELEASE THEM IN A LESS POPULATED AREA? ISN'T THIS THE MENTALITY THAT PUT ALOT OF DIFFERENT BREEDS OF BEARS ON THE ENDANGERED LIST? THE HUMAN ELEMENT. THE MOST OVER-POPULATED AND MOST DESTRUCTIVE SPECIES/ANIMAL OF ALL ON THIS EARTH. WHY DON'T YOU PUT MORE OF US OUT OF OUR MISERY? HECK, WE FIGHT TO LET THOSE LIVE THAT DON'T DESERVE TO! AND THOSE WHO ARE TOO SICK TO BE HELPED. WOULDN IT BE THE MORE HUMANE THING TO DO TO PUT THESE PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MISERY ALSO?

Bears on HWY 151

I am glad you were on the scene to make an assumption that the Georgia Wildlife should have tried to save the mother bears life.The wildlife officials have the ability to decide whether to euthanize the animal or save the animal. Unless you are a wildlife vet or some miracle worker please keep your below average statements to yourself. I feel the officers did all they could have done. Let the hired officials do their job.

The name of the road is 151,

The name of the road is 151, not 1-51.
And 151 runs from the state line all the way to the southernmost part of the county. Saying something happened "near Georgia 151" is like saying something happened "near I-75." It's not very helpful...
