The city had originally proposed to name a section of Broad Street "Luther Masingill Parkway." Luther has been a radio and TV personality since the 40's. He's probably best known for his "Lost Pet" segment that still airs on News 12 at Noon. But an ordinance passed in 2006 prohibits the city from naming a street after a living person. The solution, a possible bronze star placed on the sidewalk in front of the Tivoli Theater.
A tribute to a Chattanooga icon has been put on hold.
