All Alabama high schools will soon be equipped with long-distance learning technology --allowing students to take classes online that are not available at their local high school -- such as macro-economics and Mandarin Chinese.
The courses will be taught through video conferencing.
The project is aimed at leveling the playing field for students.
The online classes will begin in the 2009- 2010 school year.
