Keep "Up With The Joneses" With A Little Hair Of The Dog
This week the scene brings you one of Chattanooga's most highly acclaimed acts...local rock talents " Up With The Joneses " . With the original lineup coming together over ten years ago these music veterans bring a cohesive sound to their brand of homegrown rock and roll. We caught up with the founding members of the Joneses, Matt Bohannon and T.J. Greever, to find out how they achieve such a well blended sound. T.J. -" It's a melding pot of all that in my opinion of all that. You know me and Matt have been writing songs, we write songs on our own, we write songs together, we write songs as a band. That's how we draw from so many different areas"> Matt Bohannon-- " I was influenced early on by the Beatles, I grew up listening to the Beatles, The Pixies Frank Black a lot of that stuff it bleeds through in the music. We really do very from song to song." While may not be able to pigeon hole the " joneses" into a particular genre one thing is for certain it's ROCK. So if your looking to see some talented veteran musicians whose love for what they do is no more evident than in their live performances, check out " Up with the Joneses" when they storm the stage at Rhythm and Brews this Friday Night--you're in for a great time. But if your looking for that downtown pub with a neighborhood feel or just that spot where everybody knows your name look no further than the Hair Of The Dog. Owner Matt Lewis--" What that means to us is just a couple of simple things, Good Food, good atmosphere. No matter when you come in... day month year you what to expect. No gimmicks no happy hour no B.S. Just straight up good times." And along with co-owners Bert Ingram and Geoff Tarr, owner Matt Lewis delivers just that. Hair of the Dog boasts one of the best beer selections anywhere in the Scenic City. And a veteran service staff that includes some recognizable faces. But this pub differs from your average bar in that they offer a great menu that has even won the touted taste of Chattanooga that changes seasonally. Matt Lewis--" We're gonna do the Pork sliders that we had at the taste of Chattanooga, we're gonna do a Salmon burger, we're gonna do some light summery items" Owner and contractor Bert Ingram even installed a dumb waiter to ensure prompt service on any level of indoor or patio seating. Or if you want to enjoy the Dog's fine cuisine at home delivery is offered through River City Take Out Express. So whether you catch "up With The Jones This Weekend" or just want to relax after a ballgame a little Hair of the Dog is just what the doctor ordered for WDEF's Scenic City Scene I'm Tobias Parrish.
