I would like to know why they give you a certain date that your rebate money will be directly deposited if that's not the actual date you get the check. Many of us getting a rebate check have very low incomes and are expecting that money when the Irs.gov site says we will get it. If they weren't sure of the dates they should've had just said so instead of getting our hopes up. Damn government. This is exactly why the government does not need more power. That among other things. Vote republican so our taxes get lowered people.

WHERE IS MY REBATE CHECK

My last two digits of my social is 52 .I was supposed to have my rebate check by today.I did my taxes with Jackson Hewit and I did direct deposit. Why did I not rec've my check today.

Will I get a check if I'm in

Will I get a check if I'm in default with student loans?

I only recieved 900

So my husband and I both worked last year. I worked for half the year due to being pregnant. We filed our taxes married filing joint and our son was on their. But we only got back 900. My parents got back 1200 and my mom doesn't work. So whats going on? There were to many rules to this getting money back. I know at least we got something but we are a poor family right now with a five month old child. Babies aren't cheap.

check

I was just wondering if I were going to recieve a check I filed my taxes and claimed 2 children I barely worked due to having a child but did work? How can I find out if I recieve one?

Paper stimulus checks are being mailed starting today, a week ahead of the posted schedule. Some, but not all, taxpayers will receive their checks early. There is no way to tell who will or won't get their check early.

The top questions about Economic Stimulus Payments (ESPs) we continue to get from taxpayers are:

Q. Why am I getting a paper check when I chose direct deposit on my 2007 tax return?
A. If you requested that your electronic filing or tax preparation fee be deducted from the amount of your refund, you have entered into a financial agreement with the tax preparation provider or e-file software company for a refund anticipated check (RAC). Both Refund Anticipation Checks (RACs) and Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs) are bank products. The money that is deposited into your bank account comes from the financial institution associated with your electronic filing software provider or tax preparation provider, not directly from the IRS. Taxpayers who use RALs, RACs or enter into similar loans or financial agreements with their tax professional or tax software companies will not receive their economic stimulus payments by direct deposit. Instead they will get a paper check that will be issued according to the schedule that has been published for paper check distribution.

Q. I received my stimulus payment, but it was less than I expected. Why?
A. Your economic stimulus payment is based on information provided on your 2007 income tax return.
Many but not all taxpayers qualify for the maximum basic payment of $600 for singles or $1,200 for married couples. Many parents are also receiving an additional $300 for each qualifying child, born after Dec. 31, 1990.

Your payment may be less than the maximum for one or more of the following reasons:

        • You are single and your net income tax liability is less than $600. If you file Form 1040 net income tax liability is the amount shown on Line 57, plus the amount on Line 52.
        • You are married and your net income tax liability is less than $1,200.
        • You are single and your adjusted gross income (AGI) is more than $75,000. On Form 1040, AGI is the amount on Line 37.
        • You are married filing a joint return and your AGI is more than $150,000.
        • You owe back taxes that reduced your payment.
        • You have non-tax federal debts such as unpaid student loans or child-support obligations that reduced your payment.

Around the time you receive your payment, you will also receive a notice from the IRS explaining how your payment was calculated. It is important to keep this notice as a record of your economic stimulus payment. In addition, you’ll get a separate notice if you owe back taxes or non-tax debts that were offset or deducted from your stimulus payment.

The “ Stimulus Payments: Answers to Frequently Asked Questions” section of this Web site has further details on how these payments are figured.

I dont understand why i didnt receive the correct amount

hi my question is why did i receive less then i was suppose to i have 4 kids and all i got was 1,500 when i was suppose to receive 2400 i dont get it and also we are a family with very low income... please answer

Child support

My daughts sons father owe child support. Will she get his stimulus check?

Stimulus payment via direct deposit

Haven't gotten mine, yet. Filed in Feb. with my CPA, paid my fees to him via cash. My direct deposit came sooner than expected, our last numbers are 89. Did everything fair, and do not owe any taxes, student loans, etc. I was just wondering if anyone knows when the last of the direct deposits on this stimulus package are suppose to go out, since I am in the last group. IRS website is of no help at all, and I am hearing rumers that they have already started mailing paper checks to people. I thought dd was supposed to be done, before they started mailing paper checks. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to this thing at all.

Rebate

For those of you who got back less than you thought you should get, if you paid less than the amount you were expecting in federal taxes(ie. you expect $1200, but paid only $600 in federal tax), then the lesser amount($600) is what you will receive. That is one of those things that is in fine print on this whole deal. I know it's crazy, but I hope this information is helpful.

Where is the money??!!

Now I hear that if you had your taxes prepared and selected direct deposit but had the fee deducted from you rebate, you may be getting a check. After trying to find any information about this I have found none. Has anyone else had this problem or am I not looking in the right place for this information.

wheres my rebate check!

Just wanted to know why I haven't received my check. I definetly did not make over 75,000.00, my last 2 numbers of my social security are 18 which should have been may 2, I had direct deposit, already received my refunds I think in febuary

stimulus check and back taxes

I owe the IRS some back taxes, but my wife doesn't. Now I can understand the IRS taking my part of the stimulus to pay up the debt, but my wife should be able to get some of it, but will she?

Received my check-not what the calculator said I was getting

my husband and I filed jointly, between both of us we made less than 75,000 plus my son lived with us for more than 6 months. Went to the irs webpage and the amount was 918.00. we only received 618.00. Why are they showing this amount and sending the 618.00? Can anyone explain this?
Thanks

618.00

i also only recieved 618.00 my wife and i should have got 1200.00 if you find out why, please let me know as well. i'm as upset as i can be, only cause i was expecting 1200 and got 618.

Got my check but it's not what the calculator said I was getting

My Husband and I filed a joint return, we both had income below 75,000 and we had claimed 2 children, 1 child is in college and 19 yrs. old and the other child turned 17 yrs. old on Dec. 17, 2007. The calculator said we were getting 1200 dollars. So I assume because my son turned 17 the end of December we didn't get the 300 for a child. Well, we received our check today DD but we only received 600 total. What's up with that?

it depends on how much money

it depends on how much money you make jointly. You have to make less then 150000 combined. The only children that qualify are children under the age of 17. If you are due anymore money from this rebat you will get it when you file your 2008 taxes

Similar here, 56,000 last

Similar here, 56,000 last year of hubbys income, I do not work, we claimed one child, 12 years old, this means 1,500 rebate, one married couple and one child.... not true according to our letter and direct deposit. We only got 900....... does our government know how to be honest or count??

800.00

We made 32,000 dollars last year combined and only recieved 800 dollars. we thought we would get 1200-not so.
