A couple hundred Hamilton County classroom teachers get a helping hand as the school year gets underway.
Some 400 teachers this year registered online to shop for the free supplies.
That happened today at Mary Ann Garber Annex, where volunteers with the Hamilton County Council of PTAs ran the store.
The school supplies were donated by Top Flight and other local organizations.
The teachers got the basics like notebooks, pencils, tape, and poster board.
First time teacher Kara Kato is excited about having such material on-hand for her students.
She says, "A lot of the kids the resources and now this makes it possible for them to have the resources and not have to pay a lot of money. And this will just help them and encourage them to learn more and make a better setting for the educational environment."
PTA Organizers say they are always open for contributions from companies and individuals.
They say they will probably give out more supplies in January to another group of teachers.
